Media is stupider than an average 6th grader, you’re going to find out why.
Disclaimer- I dislike people in general, I am not taking any sides. This is nothing but my pragmatic opinion and my response to accusations on my school by the media.
We all are well aware of Abhimanyu’s unfortunate suicide. We all hope he’s in a better place now. The school has personally apologised to the parents for their loss. Done. It all sailed smooth until one fine day a reminder was sent out to the parents asking them to pay the pending school fee of their deceased child. Now this event was like a jackpot for all journalists, everyone swarmed over this news as if it was water amidst drought. The school observed the error and issued a public apology and openly stated that they had no ulterior motive, it was just a TECHNICAL GLITCH. Now that may be questionable for those of you who aren’t a part of The Indian High School but if money was their only priority then they wouldn’t be the most affordable outstanding school in the gulf. They’re also paying for the education of a few poverty-stricken kids abroad, I won’t get into details as I am not aware of the proper facts. (media, take hint)
Now I fail to comprehend how does the media benefit by making this entire incident a gossip. For instance:
First and foremost, it wasn’t the SA2 exam he was writing. Secondly, the parents were called to school and shown the answer sheet/ suicide note. I personally enquired this news from the school. I was told that the parents were satisfied after reading the note and they understood that they couldn’t be given the note because of some sort of protocol and the copy could only be given to the police or KHDA but they were allowed to read the note as many times as they’d like as long as it is within the school premises.
Anyways an update was published with the following headline. By then this whole news had just become a dent in the school’s reputation because of stupid gossip and due to the incompetence of the journalist to find out the actual reason behind not giving the note.
I personally find this protocol very silly but I am sure there must be a greater reason to the existence of this protocol.
I have got nothing against the parents but, the school made a mistake, they acknowledged it, issued a public apology.
HOW IN THE WORLD IS THIS INSENSITIVE?
Since we’re talking about “insensitivity”
Now time to laugh at the stupidity of people
No apology= People saying that the school is inhumane and heartless.
Apology= Your apology isn’t gonna mend something that’s damaged.
Why do we say “I’m so sorry for your loss” when someone passes away, is your apology going to bring him back? No? Thought so.
Glad you never studied from our school? Same here.
You sir need to understand the meaning of a technical glitch. It was an error which issued the reminder despite removing the name from the list.
If a public apology wasn’t made, your little media buddies would make it a bigger deal than it was in the first place………which they ended up doing despite the public apology, oh well….
I also don’t get the accusations against the school. It’s all CBSE’s fault. You don’t like the school’s way of imparting education? Tough luck, the Prussian system of education persists throughout. I DESPISE SCHOOL AND THE EDUCATION SYSTEM MORE THAN ANYTHING but do I have any choice? A dropout isn’t given any importance in this world where all that matters is your accomplishment on paper and not your intellect.
As much as I dislike the education system, The Indian High School is one of the best things that’s ever happened to me or to another 20,000 of us.
